For those students wondering how to become a teaching asistant then our online teaching assistant courses are available for those aged 16 and above, who have an interest in supporting the teaching staff and children in a school. Starting from a point which requires no previous knowledge or qualifications these courses can also help those students who are already acting as teaching assistants within the education system. A range of home study courses leading to recognised qualifications are available including our beginner course which has seven modules and is expected to take approximately sixty hours of study to a level 3 course taking 180 hours in addition to placement work. All courses are studied completely within the time frame of the student. Course aims are to teach the supportive role of the teaching assistant within the classroom.
Materials are proved in either paper or online format dependant on the course and the student can complete at any time within a full year. UK Open College provide full support to every student with a personal tutor who can be contacted via email. We also provide another course which is also designed for students with little or no knowledge of the teaching assistant role.
There are also other courses which can be taken to support these teaching assistant courses. A careful look through our full selection of courses will help decide which is the most appropriate. A selection of QCF recognised courses are available as are equivalents. Every course can be commenced at any time convenient to the student, rather than the normal September start of most college courses.
