At the end of this course successful learners will be awarded a certificate of achievement by NCFE. NCFE is recognised as an awarding organistation by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the office of qualifications and examination regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for Curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland. This course has been accredted under the NCFE IIQ licence and the course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at level 4 (Using Ofquals qualificaiton and credit framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty and level of acheivement involved. This course is provided in partnership with My distance Learning College an approved NCFE Investing in quality centre (IIQ) to give formal recognition to our courses.

The course has been designed to specifically meet the needs of learners who prefer to study at home or as a pathway course. NCFE accreditation gives assurance that the content is of a high standard and meets the rigorous requirements of a national awarding body. NCFE accreditation also gives formal recognition to our courses which result in the "award" of a certificate of achievement.

All students have one year to complete this course from date of registration. Students are welcome to complete this course as quickly as they want to.

On average this course is completed in 100 hours 5/6 months).  Extensions can be arranged if students do not complete within the year and charges will apply. We would ask you to contact our office on 0800 0131030 for latest extension fees if required.

We recommend that students complete 2-3 hours per week as a minimum to get the most from this course. Remember to work out a study plan / timetable before you start and try and stick to it.

Students of this course will be awarded 30 points towards accreditation with the National Counselling Society. Membership of NCS requires 75 points, so this course fulfils almost half of that requirement. Full accreditation requires 150 points, so completion of the course gets you well on the way, and is a real stepping stone on your career path.

All students on this course will be registered to a personal tutor who is contactable via email. We also have a team of dedicated advisors to help and advise with any course related queries. The tutors role is to help and support students for the entire duration of their studies. Please remember our tutors are here to help. Never be embarrassed to ask for help.

This course is completed using continual assessment, allowing your tutor to closely monitor your progress every step of the way. Therefore no examination is required. This course consists of seven lessons overall. Students will be required to submit assignments after each lesson via email or post proving their understanding of the subject covered. These assignments normally take between 1-2 hours to complete. A grade and report will be issued on your progress with any suggestions for improvement if necessary.

In truth we cannot be sure if this course or indeed home learning will meet every students needs. Q: Are there any deadlines for course assignments?

No! You can submit course assignments at your own pace. The only deadline is for completion of the whole course which requires students to finish within one year of registration.

Q: What if I have questions relating to my course or have problems understanding some of the questions?

No problem! All students have access to a personal tutor for the duration of their course with whom they may correspond with. You are not on your own when you study with us! We really do want you to pass your course!

Q: Will I have to purchase any additional books or materials?

No! We provide all the required course materials to enable you to complete your studies.
