Fire Safety Course

Online e-learning the UK Open College "Fire Safety" course is the ideal basic fire safety training for any business, whether as a first time training package, as part of staff induction, or a refresher course of employer and employee responsibilities.

The online Fire Safety course is broken down into an introduction, four modules and an assessment. The two main modules cover all the basics that every employee needs to know about fire in the workplace, including the different types of fire extinguisher. Additional modules are refresher modules about the duties of night staff and fire marshal.

We use audio visual, interactive animation to deliver our courses in an enjoyable and refreshing format.

The course takes approximately one and a half hours to complete and progress can be saved, enabling you to return to it later and start where you left off. You can access the course as many times as you like within a year.

On passing the assessment, you can print your certification to show that the required standard of knowledge of fire safety awareness has been reached. Course notes are also available upon completion.



Please note that you will need speakers or headphones as it is an interactive audio-visual course.



Fire safety's four main modules are:

• Module 1 - Basic fire knowledge:
  The fire triangle, consequences of fire, fire resistance, fire doors and exits, action in the event of a fire alarm and a fire.
• Module 2 - Basic fire knowledge Plus:
  Fire extinguishers and how to use them, classes of fire, fire resisting construction, case studies and law.
• Module 3 - Night porter/Personnel:
  Final check of premises and walk rounds, action in the event of fire and alarm.
• Module 4 - Fire marshal:
  Duties, action in event of a fire.
