The Nail Technician Professional Diploma Course covers all of these areas in detail. It ensures that you will be fully prepared to either set up your own business as a Nail Technician or be sufficiently qualified to work as a Nail Technician.
Included in the Nail Technician Professional Diploma Course is all you need to know about manicure and pedicure, and thus you will not be required to study for a separate manicure and pedicure qualification in order to become qualified.

What skills are required to register for this course?
There are no previous skills or qualifications reqiuired to register for this study programme.
What qualification will be awarded upon completion?
Every succesful student will be awarded the ASET Level 3 award and be able to use the letters MGPBT after their name.

Do I have to sit an exam?

- Examine the anatomy and functions of the hand and wrist showing injuries that can occur in these areas
- Introduce the cause and affect of a repetitive strain injury
- Describe what the symptoms would be for the carpal tunnel syndrome
- List four main reasons for discoloration of the nail
Module Three:
Manicure
- Describe the key aspects of manicure
- Summarise how you would perform a manicure
Module Four:
Pedicure
- Introduce and explain the various implements and materials used in pedicures
- Discuss the chemistry of hand creams and nail varnish removers
- Identify the following:
- Cuticle clippers
- Cuticle knife
- Hoof stick

The process of nail growth
- The process of nail growth
- Summarise the growth of a nail showing the treatable and un-treatable conditions

Is their any practical training required?
Optional training is available at the end of the course. This is not necessary to acheive ASET Certification.
The goal of our practical training is to provide students with on-the-job practical experience. Practical training in this context provides the opportunity for our students to apply the theory-based knowledge they have experienced during their course to "real-life" working situations and environments.
Our professional training is held at the Free Edge Nail Academy and run by Debbie Timberlake (British Beauty Awards Nail Technician of the year Finalist/Winner 1999 - 2004).
