All students have 180 days to complete this course from date of software activation. Students are welcome to complete this course as quickly as they want to. On average this course is completed in 30 hours ( 1/3 months).  

We recommend that students complete 2/3 hours per week as a minimum to get the most from this course. Remember to work out a study plan / timetable before you start and try and stick to it.
 
This course is issued in paper format complete with Sage software.

Your course materials will be delivered to you at the specified address within 7 days of enrolment. International students should allow up to 21 days for delivery.

We do not provide support for this course.
This course is provided on a self study basis and is crammed with self testing exercises and tasks to complete as you progress. Step by step you will learn all the required skills and functions of using Sage software. Students can choose whether they want to study on their own or have the reassurance of tutor support just incase you have any questions.

Students are required to complete online examination at the end of the course. This can be completed at any time of the year from any PC.

Q: When can I enrol?

The beauty of distance learning means that students can enrol at anytime they wish 365 days of the year. Enrolments and payment can be made online or by calling our office on 0121 2880181.

Q: How soon after enrolment can I start studying?

Students would normally receive their course materials within seven days of enrolment. Materials for this course are posted out direct from the Sage warehouse normally via UPS courier.

Q: Is this course accredited?

Yes! This course is accredited by Sage. See our qualifications page for full details.

Q: Is there any funding available towards the course fees?

UK Open College is a privately run college therefore we do not have access to funding

Q: Do you offer any discounts for the unemployed or low income households?

Unfortunately discounts are not available

Q: How do I know whether this is the right course for me?

In truth we cannot be sure if this course or indeed home learning will meet every students needs. To help we have a money back guarantee scheme in place which allows students to receive and try the course materials for seven days to establish whether this course is the ideal course for them. If it's not simply notify us via email or telephone within the seven day period for a full refund. Please be aware this is a strict seven day scheme and no refunds are processed once this period has expired. The seven day guarantee is void once software has been opened.

Q: What if I have questions relating to my course or have problems understanding some of the questions?

Q: Will I have to purchase any additional books or materials?

No! We provide all the required course materials to enable you to complete your studies. 

Q: Is Sage software included with the course?

Yes! We provide the latest version of Sage 50 accounts which is ussed on a 180 day license.

Q: Where are the examinations held?

Exams for level three are taken online and can be accessed from any PC in the world. Students will be emailed access and passowrd details enabling them to log on when they are ready. Exams are issued on demand at anytime of the year.

Q: Can I retake my exam If I fail?

Yes! Additional charges will apply if a retake is required.

Q: Can I offer a bookkeeping service on a freelance basis after completing this course?

No! To be able to offer a bookkeeping service you will need to be qualified with the ICB to a minimum level 2 in manual bookkeeping in addition to sage certification

Q: Do I need a computer to complete this course?

Yes! Students are required to have windows xp, Vista or Windows 7. This course is not suitable for a MAC.
